Performance of Single and Double T-matched Short Dipole Tag Antennas for UHF RFID Systems

چکیده
─ The impact of tag antenna and chip impedance tolerances on power transfer between these components is investigated analytically. Means for efficient computation of the minimum and maximum power transmission coefficient under given impedance tolerances are developed. The presented sensitivity analysis is employed to quantify the design uncertainty of single and double T-matched short dipole tag antennas for UHF RFID systems. The simulated and measured performance of the two tag antennas is analyzed

Analysis of Low Profile UHF RFID Tag Antennas and Performance Evaluation in Presence of a Metallic Surface
Passive UHF RFID systems have drawn considerable attention because these can provide a long reading range, high data rate and small antenna size. However, a passive UHF RFID system has challenges in tagging a metallic object due to the effects of conducting materials on the tag antenna performance. This paper proposes two widely used label-type antennas: folded dipole antenna and meandered dipo...
متن کاملInkjet-printed passive UHF RFID tags: review and performance evaluation
In this paper, the performance and the feasibility of inkjet-printed dipole RFID tag antennas are experimentally studied in the implementation of identifying objects with different electromagnetic properties. To estimate the performance quality, we compare our results to those obtained using traditional etched copper dipole tag antennas. We first examine the performance characteristics, i.e. th...
متن کاملAlbano multidimensional UHF passive RFID tag antenna designs
Existing two-dimensional RFID tag antennas are orientation limited and material sensitive. This paper presents the novel designs of two three-dimensional tag antennas, the Albano-Dipole antenna and the Albano-Patch antenna and evaluates their performances in static and dynamic environments, examining specifically orientation and material sensitivity.
متن کاملA Broadband UHF Tag Antenna for Near-Field and Far-Field RFID Communications
The paper deals with the design of passive broadband tag antenna for Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) band. The antenna is intended for both near and far fields Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applications. The meander dipole tag antenna geometry modification is designed for frequency bandwidth increasing. The measured bandwidth of the proposed broadband tag antenna is more than 140 MHz (820–96...
متن کاملRFID Tag Capable of Efficient Free-Space and Near-Metal Operation
The great majority of commercial UHF RFID tags are based on dipole antennas, and it is well-known that the tag performance degrades significantly when placed near a conducting surface. The question we address in this paper is: is it necessarily so? In this paper, we present evidence that suggest that it is not, at least to the degree that it has been observed. We present two antennas: one that ...
